Material & Appearance
The mold is constructed from premium high-hardness mold steel (such as S136, H13, or 718H), which undergoes vacuum heat treatment to achieve exceptional wear resistance and dimensional stability. The main body features a precision CNC-machined silver-grey metallic finish, with cavity inserts often treated with mirror polishing and specialized coatings (such as TiN or DLC) to prevent wear from highly abrasive glass-filled plastics. The prominent black cables visible at the top are connected to the integrated hot runner temperature control system, ensuring uniform melt flow and energy efficiency. The bottom section features precision-machined guide rails and complex slider mechanisms, highlighted by blue and silver metallic components, designed for high-speed automated movement.

Connector molds demand extremely tight tolerances (often ±0.01mm). This mold features a multi-cavity, multi-slider (core-pulling) system that can accurately mold miniature undercuts, pin holes, and snap-fits in a single cycle. The precision hot runner system ensures balanced filling of all cavities, eliminating flash and improving part consistency. Working Principle
The molding process starts with molten thermoplastic (often a glass-fiber reinforced nylon or LCP) being injected through the hot runner manifold. The complex slider mechanisms on the sides move into place to form the side undercuts and delicate internal structures of the connector. After the plastic solidifies, the sliders retract, the mold opens, and the high-precision ejector pins push the tiny connectors out for automated robot arm retrieval.
