Product Description
This mold is specifically developed for automotive instrument panel trim, supporting processes such as single-color and dual-color injection molding as well as in-mold decoration (IML/INS). With mold design as the core driver, precision machining as the guarantee, and quality control as the fundamental baseline, we provide comprehensive engineering services spanning the entire process—from product data review to final mold delivery.
1. Mold Design
Preliminary Review: DFM analysis (draft/wall thickness/undercut/gate) + full Moldflow simulation (filling/packing/cooling/warpage)
Feed System: Hot runner (valve/open gate); SVG optional for cosmetic parts to eliminate weld lines
Core-Pulling/Ejection: Slider + lifter compound mechanism with hydraulic assist; slider positioning + sequential opening for film insert products
Cooling System: Conformal channels, zone temperature control, cavity surface ΔT≤2℃
Ejection System: Combined ejector pin + stripper plate, even distribution, forced return
Venting System: Parting line vents (depth 0.015~0.025mm) + porous sintered inserts; vacuum assist optional for cosmetic parts
Guidance/Positioning: Precision guide pins/bushings (H7/g6) + tapered locks, repeat positioning ±0.01mm
Design Validation: 3D motion simulation (interference) + FEA strength check, deliver 2D/3D drawings and BOM
2.Mold Manufacturing
Roughing: Mold base flatness ≤0.02mm; HSM roughing with 0.5~0.8mm stock
Semi-finishing + Heat Treatment: Leave 0.15~0.25mm stock → vacuum hardening + tempering, hardness HRC 48~52
Finishing: HSM (±0.02mm); mirror EDM (Ra≤0.2μm); WEDM-LS (±0.005mm); precision grinding (flatness ≤0.005mm)
Surface Treatment: Polish to SPI A2 mirror / texture etch (VDI/Mold-Tech); PVD/TD coating optional for high-wear areas
Assembly Standards: Sliding clearance 0.02~0.04mm; mating clearance ≤0.02mm; red lead contact ≥85%
