Electronic Enclosure Injection Mold - Indoor Outdoor Weather Resistant Electrical Plastic Housing
Product Details
Product Description
Electrical enclosures are vital structural plastic parts across electronics and electrical industries. They cover indoor equipment housings, domestic electrical components, industrial control casings and outdoor weather‑resistant electrical units. These shells protect inner circuits, modules and wiring against impact, dust and moisture.
General‑purpose indoor housings commonly adopt ABS or ABS‑PC blends for balanced surface quality, impact resistance and stable molding. Flame‑retardant PC is typical for parts requiring fire resistance, high heat performance or enhanced structural stiffness. UV‑resistant ASA or anti‑ageing PC is widely used for semi‑outdoor and outdoor components exposed to sunlight to resist yellowing and material degradation. Custom Pantone color matching is available for finished components.
As core manufacturing tooling, enclosure injection molds directly decide finished‑part assembly accuracy, surface finish and overall performance. Well‑built tooling avoids common defects including warpage, flash, sink marks and mismatched assembly gaps, delivering consistent quality for various electrical end‑uses.
Broad Application & Custom Specifications
Our custom moulds support full‑scene customization, including general indoor housings, power‑supply shells, instrument casings and junction boxes, alongside waterproof outdoor electrical enclosures.
Single‑cavity or double‑cavity layouts are available according to your output volume. Proper maintenance enables tool life up to 1 million shots. Mounting bosses, reinforcing ribs, assembly grooves and waterproof sealing grooves are all built following your 3D data.
Surface finishes comply with VDI or SPI standards, supporting matte, textured or high‑gloss surfaces for diverse industrial appearance demands.
Mold Design & Manufacturing Highlights
Electrical enclosures often come with complex geometry, dense ribs, uneven wall sections and multiple undercuts, bringing multiple molding challenges. At early development phase, injection‑molding flow simulation is run to predict melt filling, gas trapping and shrinkage behaviour. Optimised gate positions and fine‑tuned venting reduce sink marks, burn marks and short‑fill on ribs and cosmetic surfaces.
Precision slider constructions handle snap‑fit and undercut features, ensuring smooth side movement without parting‑line flash. Balanced cooling channels minimise warpage for large flat areas. Key assembly and sealing dimensions hold within 0.01‑0.02 mm tolerance, ensuring easy assembly and reliable sealing performance for waterproof variants.
Mold Surface & Finish Execution
After core and cavity machining is completed, surface treatment is carried out according to specified VDI or SPI texture requirements. Polishing operations proceed step‑by‑step to achieve required gloss levels on visible cosmetic faces. Texturing or etching processes are applied for matte‑finish housings. Strict visual inspection is performed post‑treatment to eliminate scratches, tool marks and uneven texture. All surface work follows the appearance reference provided within project specifications.
Quality Control & Project Delivery
Machining work follows finalized design documents. Processing progress is tracked throughout production. After machining, multiple trial‑mould cycles and continuous production simulation validate tool performance. FAI inspection reports and CPK data can be supplied on request; third‑party testing is acceptable. Upon shipment, complete mould drawings, injection parameters and maintenance instructions are handed over together with the tool.
Vios provides one‑stop service throughout the full product‑development cycle. High‑precision Mazak machining centres produce intricate cavity and core structures for complex electrical‑housing moulds, while Zeiss CMM equipment performs dimensional inspection for mould components and trial samples. In‑house capabilities cover mould development, injection‑mould trials and small‑batch manufacturing, supporting projects from prototype validation through to pre‑mass‑production readiness.
For new‑generation electrical housing projects intended for indoor or outdoor applications, the engineering team is ready to conduct dedicated DFM analysis and deliver accurate quotations upon receipt of 3D files and technical specifications.
