Laundry baskets and hampers are widely‑used household storage items for bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry rooms. Typically produced from PP or HDPE, these deep‑cavity containers feature load‑bearing side walls, ventilated hollow perforations and ergonomic handles for comfortable carrying.
Molding these large deep‑draw parts brings noticeable tooling challenges. High in‑mold pressure, long melt‑flow distance and extensive cut‑out features can easily create weld lines, warpage, gas trapping and poor demolding performance. Improper gating, cooling or parting‑line arrangement will directly lower mass‑production yield.
Professional Gating & CAE Optimization
To balance filling pressure and avoid molding defects, we arrange gates on thick wall areas to guide melt flowing from thick sections to thin hollow areas. This method effectively reduces injection pressure and clamping force requirements. All filling balance, flow trace and weld line positions are verified by pre‑production CAE simulation to ensure stable and consistent molding quality for long‑term mass production.
Core Mold Engineering Technology
We adopt optimized parting line layout at the bottom edge instead of the middle surface, greatly improving the demolding success rate and avoiding flash on visible surfaces. Advanced conformal cooling channels shorten cooling time and reduce product deformation caused by uneven temperature distribution. Reasonable venting around hollow inserts eliminates burning marks and short shots. Multi‑point balanced ejection protects thin ribs and perforation edges from whitening or cracking during demolding.
High‑Standard Surface Finishing
We provide high‑end cavity surface treatment for laundry basket molds. The mirror polishing process reaches Ra ≤ 0.8μm, ensuring ultra‑smooth surface that prevents clothes from snagging and improves product texture. It can be matched with custom texture, rattan grain and logo etching to realize diverse appearance grades for retail market differentiation.
