Diving Goggle Lens Housing - Prototype
Product Details
Product Description
Processing: CNC machining Material: 6061-T6 aluminum alloy
Tolerance: ±0.02mm to ±0.05mm Surface roughness: Ra 0.8
Material, Machining Process and Post-treatment
1. Aluminum alloy is used to develop the hand prototype of the diving goggle housing for functional testing and market feedback collection. This component is an axial part with cylindrical surfaces, four irregular holes on the side, and external threads at both ends.
2. CNC machining is adopted to fabricate the diving mask lens housing. This option guarantees precise assembly tolerances and achieves the required surface roughness, which are critical to waterproof performance.
Manufacturing Process
1. Tight control of critical dimensional tolerances is mandatory to meet assembly requirements. For this diving mask housing project, the dimensional tolerance of the cylindrical surface ranges from ±0.02 mm to ±0.05 mm, and the thread tolerance is 6H, representing high-precision requirements.
To achieve these tolerances, 3-axis CNC milling, CNC turning and 4-axis CNC machining are applied.
2. The key to realizing waterproof performance is reaching a surface roughness of Ra 0.8. The inner cylindrical surface is precisely machined by precision CNC turning. This process delivers a smooth surface with ultra-low roughness. This feature is essential because it eliminates gaps between the surface of the diving mask component and the sealing ring. Accordingly, the sealing ring can fit perfectly with the component to achieve waterproofing.
Surface Treatment
To enhance the visual appearance of the diving mask lens housing, sandblasting and black anodizing is applied as the final finish.
