Custom Automotive Plastic Injection Molding for Integrated Dashboard Assembly
Published On: September 4, 2026

Background & Challenges
To meet strict OEM acceptance standards, the client needed to replace a legacy tool prone to warpage and hole misalignment. As a core cockpit framework, the dashboard requires high-precision automotive plastic injection molding due to its complex geometry and numerous mounting points for airbags, displays, and air vents. Key challenges included controlling warpage on a large-scale injection part, securing precision across key features, managing fit and flush between the black main body and beige trim, and ensuring a 500,000-cycle tool life.
Solutions
We delivered a full-process turnkey tooling solution:
DFM & Moldflow Simulation: Conducted upfront analysis to predict shrinkage and warpage, optimizing gate layouts and cooling channels.
Tailored Mold Design: Developed modular tooling for the main shell and beige trim with cross-inspection standards, incorporating balanced cooling lines and high-precision inserts.
Validation & Support: Performed precision machining and structured trial iterations (T0–T2), providing on-site parameter tuning and engineering support.
Results
The tooling successfully passed mass production validation. Dimensional warpage and flush tolerances met strict OEM specifications, mitigating BSR risks during assembly and passing all reliability tests—securing a long-term strategic partnership for interior tooling development.
